Imagine if we dismissed our negative or distracting thoughts like we do dreams?
Sometimes we can wake up after a bad dream can’t we, and we automatically calm ourselves down with
“Oh it’s OK, it was just a dream, it doesn’t mean anything”
Immediately, it puts our mind at rest.
So…. if that works with dreams (which really, are just thoughts but at night time), we can do the same with thoughts (in the daytime) right?
“Oh it’s OK, it was just a thought, it doesn’t mean anything”.
Thoughts are just thoughts.
They don’t mean anything unless we choose to give it a meaning, and put all of our energy into it, which then makes it into a great big something in a way that we probably didn’t want!
