Entrepreneur Isolation. It’s a topic that needs to be talked about regularly because all of us are susceptible to it, and of course, the repercussions of it if left to go on for too long, are very real.

“Just get it started, don’t get it perfect, just do it!” (Dionne Wilson, Inside Out Beauty & Massage)
Dionne Wilson is this week’s guest on the Happy Healthy Entrepreneur podcast.
When I first qualified as a hypnotherapist in 2008, that was a question I got asked all the time: by clients, family, friends, and even by strangers if it happened to come up. It certainly made for good conversation!
“I still have much bigger visions for my business, but in this moment, right now, I know I have so much in my life, right now, that’s joyful and lovely – and I created that!” (Lynn Hord, The Joy Coach)
Think of this episode as a lovely little ‘pick me up’, that if for some reason, you’ve lost sight of “why am I doing this working for myself lark again?” allow this episode to put you right back in that place of gratitude and appreciating all that is good about being an entrepreneur.
“People get into business and they look at the people who’ve been doing it for years, who have got very successful established businesses, and think that’s where they should be, and if they haven’t achieved that within 3-6 months, they feel like they’re failing. And they give up. But the thing is, there’s a journey here, and you can’t force yourself to grow faster than is actually possible, and so it’s that understanding that makes the difference” (Catherine Watkin, Selling From The Heart)
As business owners, if you’ve ever had the experience of wanting to pack it all in because it’s not happening quick enough, then you’re going to get a lot from this episode.
I don’t know about you, but every year around about now – August/September time, I start to get the feeling I’d like to do some more learning or change things up a bit. Perhaps enroll on a course, take up a new hobby, add some new skills to my hypnotherapy ‘toolkit’.
Do you get that too?
“Don’t be afraid to ask. If you know someone who’s making a success of it, ask them what’s really worked for them and follow that same plan, and also ask them about any mistakes they’ve made, and then try not to make the same mistakes!” (Matthew Long, Matt Long Massage)
If you’re someone who could do with strengthening your ASK muscle, then you’re going to get a lot from this episode. As business owners, I wonder whether we ask enough sometimes, and I think Matt is a great example of someone who does ask, and what opens up when you do.
A couple of months ago, I attended a four-day retreat, in the middle of the Suffolk countryside. The foundations of the retreat were firmly rooted in the principles behind our experience of life (more on that another time).
During this retreat, I came to understand a lot of things, things that make a lot of sense, and things that can save us a lot of time and mental energy, in work and in life. Anxiety and the pointlessness of it was one of them, and I’ve already written about that, which you can read about here.
“Being kind to myself in the early days of setting up my business, and not moving the goal posts has got me to where I am now – which is enjoying it” (Louise Moles, Thrive with Louise)
We all need reminding of that sometimes don’t we?
This week on the podcast, I’m in conversation with Louise Moles of Thrive With Louise.
“I love being part of this growing movement of support, collaboration and co-operation. I call it the ‘new paradigm of business’ where it’s not about competition, it’s about championing each other, and celebrating that. That’s what works best for the planet, not just me as an individual, that’s what works best for all of us.” (Linda Anderson, Tap Into Your Success)
